WHO MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR HOSPICE CARE?
Hospice care is for any person who has a terminal illness or when curative treatment is no longer effective or desired. While the majority of hospice is by no means exclusively for cancer patients. People with disability, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), End-Stage Kidney, Liver, or Lung disease as well as Alzheimer’s disease can also greatly benefit from hospice care.
HOSPICE HOME OF SO CAL provides translators if required free of charge to the patient to assure accuracy and continuity of care. The onsite initial evaluation is offered as a part of our hospice program.
WHO PAYS FOR HOSPICE?
Hospice is covered by Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-cal, and most private insurance. HOSPICE HOME OF SO CAL accepts Medicare and Medicaid as coverage for hospice care, there are no out-of-pocket expenses for eligible patients or their loved ones.

HOSPICE HOME OF SO CAL can provide shifts of hospice staff for a brief period to help the patient at home. If a patient needs care beyond what can solely be provided at home. HOSPICE HOME OF SO CAL has special arrangements with local hospitals and skilled nursing facilities where patients may receive necessary inpatient care to manage the crisis until they can return home.
HOSPICE HOME OF SO CAL provides one on one counseling and group support to assist through the grieving process for at least a year following the patient’s passing.
